The Simmons

Dekkel has been a committed follower of Christ for over 20 years, having given his life to Christ at the age of 12. From as early as age 11, he discerned a clear call to pastoral ministry—a calling that has been continually affirmed through faithful service, spiritual growth, and leadership.

Raised in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Dekkel attended the New Testament Church of God, where he served actively as a musician, sound technician, and member of the worship team. After relocating to the United Kingdom for his studies, he became an active member of NTCG Chrisma Christian Centre, London. There, he served on the Youth Board, participated in the Youth Worship Team, taught Sunday School, and supported the audio and visual technical team—developing a strong passion for youth discipleship and servant leadership.

In 2022, Dekkel married his wife, Lazelle Simmons, and together they were blessed with a daughter, Layla-Linnet Simmons. In 2025, he was appointed Local Youth and Discipleship Director at NTCG Leeds, where he serves faithfully alongside his wife in the Youth Ministry. Dekkel was recently appointed as a member of the Church and Pastors’ Council (CPC), contributing to the leadership and spiritual direction of the church.

In his roles as Local Director and CPC Member, Dekkel plays an active part in shaping the culture of the church through preaching, teaching, and leading events. He has a deep love for Scripture and is passionate about helping young people understand, apply, and live out the Word of God in their everyday lives.

He firmly believes that true impact is not found in titles, but in the lives we influence without ever saying a word.

Early in her Christian walk, Lazelle felt a clear call to ministry—particularly to women—through evangelism and mentorship. As a young believer, she faithfully served in her local church as Young Ladies Director, an active member of the youth ministry, and part of the preaching team.

On a national level, Lazelle operated in prophetic prayer and intercession, serving as a Morning Glory prayer team member and altar worker. In 2017, she answered the call to evangelism by completing the Leadership Academy at Teen Challenge, a theologically grounded program focused on pastoring and supporting vulnerable individuals. She later participated in a mission trip with Teen Challenge Jamaica and went on to solidify her roots at Teen Challenge Hope House Women’s Centre, where she served as the youngest Senior Advisor to date.

In 2022, Lazelle married her husband, Dekkel Simmons, and together they are blessed with one daughter, Layla-Linnet Simmons. She currently serves alongside her husband as Assistant Youth and Discipleship Director at New Testament Church of God Leeds.

Lazelle carries a deep burden to help those in need—both spiritually and physically—and is particularly called to minister to women through restoration. Through her ministry, individuals have witnessed prophetic words come to life, strongholds broken, and lives transformed as people step into the true freedom Christ died to give.

Lazelle believes that true vessels of God are not defined by age, but by willingness and obedience.
